Man, look at those gorgeous locks! Why did I ever cut my hair? Seriously. Aside from the fact that it tied me to my recent breakup from a guy who insisted I had long hair, I don't know what I was thinking. Certainly it was a freeing experience and I loved the cut I ended up with, but I've never been able to get that beautiful length again. Shortly after Matt and I got married, I had a length a little longer than shoulder length and it was a soft strawberry blonde. I freaking loved it. But piece by piece, I've chopped it all off. I miss my hair. Or at least hair that I could style, or that matched me, or that was at least even and not blown to bits by what I'm sure now was a drunk stylist.
Still, long hair has been a problem in my past
That's right folks, my hair is stuck in a freaking car door. Anyways . . . I have a point.
Ya'll remember these pictures from earlier this week right?
Where the stylist, when asked to give me a Victoria Beckham cut, decided to shave the back of my head, but only in small sections? As for the rest of the back of the hair, I felt like she stuck a bowl on my head and cut around it like I was a six year old boy from the late 80's.
And then she didn't even make the angle even. It's long in the front by my chin and then short around my ear, only to go long in the back, just before we get to where my head has been shaved. I cried over this cut. My faithful readers know that. They know that I considered getting extensions, shaving my head and buying a wig, if only I had the cash. So now I wear this:
So far only a few people have asked in private if I'm undergoing chemo. Which makes me feel bad that I might be giving the impression to people that I'm faking cancer to get attention. Quite the contrary. I'm hiding a bad haircut to avoid attention. One girl online emailed me to ask if all FLDS women wore scarves. First off, I'm not FLDS, I'm LDS (there's more of a difference than an F), and we don't all wear scarves on our heads, style our hair the same style, etc, etc. Sigh.
So why am I still complaining about my hair? Because one of my favourite blogs might give me the chance to change it! Casey from Moosh In Indy (Yes, the link means I insist you go and read her blog) is giving one person the chance to get to the front of the line over at Hair Thursday.
So yes, go over and enter in yourself for a new do, but pray for me friends that I might win . . . face it, I need it more than you.

You DO need to win!!
What a nightmare!
Oh. MY. GOSH!!!!! I had the EXACT same thing happen to me!!!! I asked them to do that to my hair, and they screwed it up in almost the exact same way. I went back, and made them fix it. They did, but it still made me mad that they had to whack so much off TO fix it. WTH, right?? Good luck with Casey's contest! I won't enter just to give you a better chance.
I hope you win. I'm sorry for your terrible hairperience. What was the hair stylist thinking??
I hope you win( I was just featured on Whoorl's hair thursday after waiting six months on ger waiting list)..and short hair is not all that bad if you have the right cut.
I would be crying too. Good luck in the contest! (from another LDS mom)
hey there, I came here through Lynn's blog so I hope you don't mind me commenting. Wow your haircut, I think that good hairdresser's are so hard to find - they're like gold. The one in our town is very much like the one you went to, I've twice now asked her not to cut too much off my hair as i'm trying to grow it but it's like faling on deaf ears - she cut if short *sigh* I havent' gone back since...BUT I DO hope you win the competition :-)

You poor, poor thing. We should be able to sue hairstylists for such things.
